Agreement

These terms are the rules for using Converted. By using the site, you agree to them — so we’ve kept them short and written them to be read.

They apply to the whole website and everything you do on it. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the service.

Who we are

Converted is operated by [Company name], registered in [Country] at [Registered address] (“Converted”, “we”, “us”).

The service

Converted lets you convert files from one format to another in your browser. The formats we support are listed in the converters section and the help center.

The converter is free to use and doesn’t require an account. We may add, change or remove features and formats over time.

Your files

• You keep all rights to your files. Uploading a file doesn’t give us ownership of it or of the result.
• We use them only to convert. You give us permission to store and process each file for as long as the conversion and download require — at most one hour — and for nothing else.
• You need the right to convert them. Only upload files you own or are allowed to use, and that you’re allowed to convert.
• Keep your own copy. Results are deleted one hour after conversion and can’t be recovered. Converted is not a storage service.

Acceptable use

To keep Converted working for everyone, you agree not to:

• upload content that is illegal, or that infringes someone else’s rights;
• upload malware or files designed to damage or disrupt the service or other users;
• use the service for any unlawful purpose;
• interfere with or try to break the service, its security or its limits;
• use bots, scripts or scrapers to access the service in bulk, or put an unreasonable load on our servers;
• resell or rebrand the service without our written permission.

Limits and fair use

Each file can be up to 2 GB, and up to 20 files can be converted in one batch. These limits may change, and the current ones are always shown on the site.

Converted is free because it’s used fairly. If usage harms the service for others — for example, heavy automated traffic — we may slow it down, block it or stop it.

Accounts

An account is optional. If you create one, keep your login details private, give accurate information, and tell us straight away if you think someone else is using your account. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

You can delete your account at any time.

Availability

We work to keep Converted fast and available, but we can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may pause the service for maintenance, updates or reasons beyond our control.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no guarantees about the service — including that every conversion will succeed, that results will be exactly what you expect, or that the service fits a particular purpose.

Check your converted files before relying on them.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Converted is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of the service. Because files are deleted after an hour, please always keep your originals.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Privacy

How we handle your files and personal data is described in our privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

Ending your use

You can stop using Converted at any time. We may suspend or block access for anyone who breaks these terms, especially where it puts the service or other users at risk.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. We’ll change the date at the top of this page, and announce significant changes on the site before they take effect. Continuing to use Converted after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [Country]. Disputes will be handled by the courts of [Country / city], unless the law of the country where you live says otherwise.
